Full Job Description
Currently seeking a Guidance Counselor for the AHRC Middle/HS in Dyker Heights. Address: 1201 66th Street Brooklyn, NY 11219 Benefits of working for AHRC NYC: • Paid time off • Health, Dental and Vision insurance • 403b Retirement Plan with employer match • Tuition Assistance • Qualified Employer for the Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program • Life Insurance • Parental Leave • Commuter Benefits • Health Savings Account • Referral Program • Professional Development • & more Role Description: • Full Time / Monday-Friday • Hours: 8:00 A.M-4:00 P.M • 10 month program with a 30 day session • Interviews families; conducts/reviews social case histories. • Provides direct support service to individual students, small groups and classrooms; provides counseling services as mandated. • Treats psychological disorders and adaptive delays to effect improvement and provides counseling to students and/or families. • Collaborates with interdisciplinary and child/student study teams in developing treatment programs for students. • Provides in-service training and workshops for staff and for families. • Provides counseling for families. • Collaborates in the integration of transition activities and development of transition goals. • Refer individuals/families to appropriate resources for needed services and post-secondary options • Performs all duties necessary for compliance and relevant regulations governing service provision, including record-keeping. • If bi-lingual, must be able to translate, write reports, and speak fluently with parents and/or students in their preferred language. • Member of various department wide education and / or agency committees. • Provides services to students in a legal and ethical manner. Annual Salary: $79,760-$81,946 Salaries commensurate with years of experience.
