Full Job Description
Rural Roads Health Services (RRHS) is actively seeking applicants for a Echocardiographer position for the Diagnostic Imaging Department.

The primary location for this position is: Alexandra Hospital Ingersoll

Position Summary

The Echocardiographer - Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer contributes fully to the provision of patient focused, safe, efficient, quality imaging within the health care facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all echocardiography procedures as required and offered at Alexandra Hospital Ingersoll.
  • Comply with all legislation, policies procedures, protocols and guidelines defined by government agencies, hospital and imaging department.
  • Perform all diagnostic procedures and related processes in all aspects of diagnostic echocardiography.
  • Provide pre and post examination patient care to all diagnostic echocardiography patients.
  • Protection of patient's information, comply with current privacy and confidentiality legislation.
  • Complete dedicated education to enhance knowledge of imaging to improve current practices or new practices offered.
  • Attend and utilize team meetings, in-service and educational programs as available.
  • Proficient in the use of departmental electronic information systems.

Qualifications Required
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonography / Adult Echocardiography
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
  • Liability insurance coverage as mandated by the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
  • Current registration with the Sonography Canada or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARMDS).
  • Must have the knowledge, skills and judgement to perform procedures undertaken in the course of their practice of the profession.
  • Standards of Practice compliance and competency as developed and described by Sonography Canada.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, manage time effectively and produce accurate results while working autonomously or as a team player.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Committed to service excellence while meeting the patient/staff needs efficiently.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.

Other pertinent conditions:
  • Salary per the OPSEU collective agreement ($36.84 per hour to $51.77 per hour)
