The annual range for this role is $106,000 to 132,500

Final salary offers are determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, specialized skills, and certifications.

Purpose and Scope of Job:

Responsible for directing all technical aspects of Aftermarket mechanical (GM and GB) and electrical engineering and design work in regard to product, technical processes, and engineering team development leading to optimal customer technical support. This position will provide effective leadership, development, and motivation to a team of engineers and designers and function as a key member of the senior management team.

Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):

  • Provide technical and daily managerial leadership to direct reports (Engineers) in Applications, Product, and Design
  • Manage and guide the development, implementation, and evaluation of engineering processes and systems in three key departmental functional areas : Applications, Product, and Design
  • Perform as key client contact for workflow, process, and productivity for technical design/issues, helping to facilitate overall customer support on technical / engineering matter
  • Review and develop technical requirements and plans in support of proposals for potential internal projects
  • Responsible for achieving all engineering projects within schedule and budget constraints
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to engineers, designers, and clients in process and workflow optimization, and engineering techniques and technical issues relating to all related products
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and technical support on new product launches
  • Manage / control the design documentation and configurations of products thru the Design Engineers.
  • Manage / control the quotation process thru the Application Engineer / Team
  • Oversee the responsibilities of the Technical Document Coordinator or Customer Support Reps
  • Perform resource planning and budgeting for the engineering teams, understanding the product roadmap and looking ahead to anticipate future staffing and advanced design needs
  • Maintain, review, analyze, and act on specific performance metrics of the Engineering Team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Masters preferred
  • Five (5) years of experience in managing electrical or mechanical engineering product development and support teams.
  • Ten (10) years engineering / design experience in related fields and technologies.
  • Thorough knowledge of all types and sizes of gearboxes as well as motors, brake-motors, motor standards such as UL, MG1, CSA, motor design and manufacture, and other types of rotating
    equipment, required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, mentoring, and leadership skills.

Duties are performed in an industrial environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; twist; bend; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
