Responsibilities

  • Supervise production employees in fabricating and processing Aerospace materials and parts.
  • Ensure department staff has necessary tools and resources to meet production targets.
  • Drive productivity goals and engagement among staff.
  • Identify and eliminate waste through 5S initiatives in the production process.
  • Review, counsel, evaluate, and discipline employees as needed.
  • Monitor and control manufacturing costs including material usage and overtime.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and managers to exceed objectives and meet customer quality and delivery standards.

Full Job Description
PPG's Aerospace Business is hiring a Production Supervisor to work onsite in Sylmar, California. The function of the Production Supervisor is to support the PPG corporate initiative to accomplish the goals of the business unit. This will be done by developing and maintaining daily production activities, supervision of staff, and ensuring lean manufacturing principles are implemented. This position reports to the Production Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervises production employees in the fabrication and processing of Aerospace Transparency material and parts.
  • Ensure the department staff has all tools and resources necessary, and executes daily production targets, driving productivity goals and engagement.
  • Responsible for 5S initiatives by identifying and eliminating waste in all phases of production process.
  • Reviews, counsels, evaluates, and disciplines employees as necessary.
  • monitors and controls cost of manufacturing, including material usage and overtime.
  • Works as a team with functional area supervisors and managers to exceed objectives and meet customer requirements of quality, delivery, cost, and inventory performance.
  • Successfully run the manufacturing floor while maintaining a safe environment, meeting critical KPIs while driving engagement.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma and 5+ years of leadership experience required.
  • Aerospace industry experience preferred.

The base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000, with a possibility of an annual bonus up to 7% of base salary.
