Job Description

About the Opportunity

Eurofins Electrical and Electronics is building its Aerospace, Defense, and Military testing vertical and is looking for an Aerospace and Defense Sales Engineer to help lead that growth from scratch. This is a greenfield individual contributor role. There is no inherited book of business, no warm handoffs, and no existing territory to manage. You are building it.

We are looking for someone who knows the defense customer landscape, understands how programs are structured, and is willing to do the work required to establish Eurofins as a trusted name in the Mid-Atlantic defense testing community. That means attending events, working with marketing, prospecting cold, and grinding out early wins while building something that will matter long term.

This role is lab-based in Baltimore. That is intentional. Defense customers conduct witness testing on site and we need someone present who can own those relationships in the room, support the technical team, and raise the energy and expertise level of the building. You will work alongside our Business Development Manager and complement an expanding Principal Engineer team covering EMC, Environmental Simulation, and Reliability testing.

What You Will Do

Defense Customer Development
  • Build a defense and aerospace customer base from the ground up across the Mid-Atlantic corridor - prime contractors, Tier 1 suppliers, government program offices, and defense research agencies
  • Develop and execute a territory strategy in coordination with the sales and marketing team - identify target accounts, attend industry events, and establish Eurofins as a known and trusted name in the defense testing community
  • Prospect and qualify new defense testing opportunities across EMC, environmental simulation, reliability, and wireless disciplines through outbound outreach, networking, and event participation
  • Manage the full sales cycle from cold outreach through proposal, negotiation, and program award
  • Work closely with the Business Development Manager and Market Intelligence Associate to leverage procurement data and program intelligence in targeting and prioritization

Technical Sales Support
  • Serve as the technical bridge between defense customers and the lab - translating program testing requirements into Eurofins service offerings
  • Support witness testing events on site, acting as the primary customer-facing presence during lab visits
  • Contribute to technical proposals, statements of work, and capability presentations tailored to defense program requirements
  • Provide customers with guidance on applicable test standards including MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, RTCA/DO-160, and related defense qualification requirements

Vertical Growth and Market Development
  • Identify whitespace opportunities within the Mid-Atlantic defense and aerospace market and develop targeted account strategies
  • Represent Eurofins E&E at defense industry events, trade shows, and technical conferences
  • Provide market intelligence back to lab leadership to inform capability investments and service expansion
  • Support ITAR and CMMC-compliant customer engagement in coordination with the program compliance team

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

Required:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) - required for ITAR and CMMC compliance; this requirement cannot be waived
  • 5+ years of experience working within or directly supporting U.S. defense or aerospace programs - prime contractor, Tier 1 supplier, government lab, program office, or defense-focused testing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with defense customers at the technical and program management level
  • Familiarity with how defense programs are structured, how testing requirements flow from contract to execution, and how defense customers evaluate and select test partners
  • Comfortable with greenfield sales - prospecting, cold outreach, event networking, and building a pipeline from zero
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal - with the ability to represent Eurofins credibly to program managers, engineers, and contracting officers
  • Comfortable being present and engaged in a working lab environment on a daily basis

Strongly Preferred:
  • Working knowledge of MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, RTCA/DO-160, or related defense qualification test standards
  • Prior experience in technical sales, business development, or applications engineering in the defense or aerospace sector
  • Familiarity with ITAR, EAR, and CMMC compliance requirements in a defense contracting or testing context
  • Existing relationships within the Mid-Atlantic defense corridor - Aberdeen Proving Ground, Patuxent River, Dahlgren, Pentagon, or Northern Virginia prime contractor base
  • Active or lapsed security clearance a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field (equivalent experience considered)

Why This Role
  • Individual contributor with full ownership of your territory - you are building something, not maintaining someone else's work
  • Compensation structured on a sales executive plan with base salary and commission upside
  • Direct line to senior sales and operations leadership - your input shapes how this vertical is built
  • A defined growth mandate with real investment behind it - MIL/Aero/Defense is a named strategic priority, not a side project
  • Coast-to-coast defense testing network (Baltimore + Santa Clara) gives you a platform that single-site competitors cannot match on large programs requiring geographic coverage
  • Baltimore puts you inside one of the densest defense and intelligence corridors in the country - Aberdeen Proving Ground, NSA, Naval Academy, Patuxent River, and a deep prime contractor base within driving distance
  • A lab that defense customers visit for witness testing - you are not selling remotely, you are hosting programs

Additional Information

Compensation:
  • Base Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 / Total with Variable Compensation: $125,000 - $160,000+

Schedule:
  • M-F 8:30am-5pm

What we offer:
  • Excellent full time benefits including comprehensive medical coverage, dental, and vision options
  • Life and disability insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid vacation and holidays
