Job Title: Advisor, Human Resources Reporting to:Manager, Human Resources Vacancy: New vacancy Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 with the placement and offered salary being based on knowledge, skills, education/training and experience, as well as external market conditions and internal equity Workplace Type: Hybrid arrangement. The OBSI office is located in downtown Toronto. Duties and Responsibilities The Advisor, Human Resources supports the delivery of human resources programs, policies, and services across the organization. Working closely with managers and employees, the Advisor provides guidance on a wide range of HR matters and contributes to a positive employee experience while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and organizational policies. Key responsibilities include: - Provide guidance and support to employees and managers regarding HR policies and procedures, benefits, leaves, accommodations and other employment-related matters. - Coordinate recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, employment offers, background checks, and new employee onboarding and orientation. - Support employee benefits, pension, and HR programs by facilitating orientation sessions and responding to employee inquiries and liaising with external service providers as required. - Support payroll processing by ensuring employee information is provided accurately and in a timely manner and by coordinating with payroll as needed. - Coordinate staff training events, HR-related compliance training, training initiatives and maintain accurate training records. - Administer the annual performance review process, including HRIS review cycle administration, communication of review schedules, tracking completion, and partnering with managers to address delays, concerns, and performance management issues. - Prepare quarterly and year end HR reports and metrics, communicate key insights; and collaborate with managers to address any concerns. - Assist with the development, implementation, and communication of new and existing HR policies, programs, procedures, and initiatives. - Maintain employee records management and HR information systems, ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance. - Support compliance with employment standards, human rights, health and safety, accessibility, privacy, and other legislative requirements. - Participate in HR-related projects such as compensation and benefits reviews, employee engagement surveys, job evaluations, training research and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Qualifications, Abilities, and Skills - Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. - CHRP designation or progress toward obtaining a professional HR designation is considered an asset. - Additional training or certifications in human resources, employment law, compensation, disability management, or organizational development are considered assets. - Strong judgment - the ability to make responsible decisions independently based on available information. - Strong written and oral communication skills - the ability to communicate effectively and professionally demonstrating diplomacy, tack and patience. - Strong analytical skills and attention to details. - Strong planning, organizational and time-management skills - including the ability to identify tasks and manage multiple priorities and deadlines. - Self motivated and accountable to take initiative to support innovation. - Experience with HRIS platforms; experience with ADP Workforce Now is considered an asset. - Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs, as well as a demonstrated commitment to maximizing productivity through information technology and continuously improving information technology skills.
