Job Description

As an Advanced Systems Engineer - Fire Systems and AI here at Honeywell, you will provide expert-level technical leadership in the design and development of safety critical systems for commercial fire alarm products. You will be responsible for supporting the engineering processes, technology, and best practices adopting AI agents and other tools to accelerate product development.

You will report directly to our Global Fire Chief Architect and you'll work out of our Atlanta, GA or Northford, CT locations (based on preference) on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in driving the architecture and systems engineering of global safety critical (SIL2) technologies like fire alarm control panels, audio-video notification devices, smoke / gas / heat detectors, and public voice announcement systems. Other technologies include wireless mesh networking and AI/ML edge innovation. Honeywell Fire needs an innovative thinker with strong systems experience and ready to develop and deploy a vision of AI agents supporting the systems engineering processes. Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the architecture definition and proof of concept development of next-generation fire safety products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute pre-discovery and discovery activities in a SAFe framework
  • Manage the critical design review process, metrics, and facilitate CDR's across global release trains
  • Provide technical leadership for systems engineering process activities assuring built-in quality is guaranteed. Evaluate and recommend process automation tools.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in engineering R&D process automation tools

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • 8+ years of experience as a systems engineer on complex, globally distributed safety critical product development
  • 4+ years of experience using SAFe or other Agile methodologies, preferably in safety critical products
  • Excellent communication and ability to convey complex technical concepts to stakeholders
  • Ability to drive positive resolution of complex cross-functional conflicts to optimum product architecture
