Full Job Description
Overview

We are seeking a full-time Advanced Solutions Manager at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating and enhancing Garmin's innovation process with the goal of providing strategic solutions.

Essential Functions
  • Encourage and facilitate product concept exploration and innovative engineering solutions
  • Partner with other leaders to brainstorm strategic solutions and product or system concepts that further and enhance Garmin's future
  • Carryout strategic initiatives that focus on innovative ways of completing familiar tasks
  • Develop advanced concepts, prototypes, and innovative systems via internal knowledge, customer interaction, and user focus groups
  • Create and develop concepts and specifications that optimize the function, value, appearance and manufacturability of products and systems
  • Apply research and planning processes to test intuitive solutions and explore options and verify directions chosen are optimal business solutions
  • Lead research of strategic technologies and facilitate rapid deployment of those which are compatible with Garmin's business interests
  • Explore a wide variety of options, test intuitive solutions, and identify the solutions that are optimal for business success
  • Develop strategic relationships with customers and serve as primary point of contact for any discussions regarding the strategic project status and deliverables

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or another related degree AND a minimum of 10 years of industry experience in user experience and product innovation fields
  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Garmin's overall product line and customers
  • Demonstrates exemplary judgment regarding product usability, customer expectations, and creative product tradeoffs
