As a Advanced Software- Site Reliability Engineer here at Honeywell, you will design, develop, and maintain software applications, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure timely project completion. Impact innovative solutions driving efficiency and productivity. You will report directly to our Software Engineer Manager and you'll work out of our Pittsford, NY and/ or Atlanta, GA and/ or Framingham, MA location.

LenelS2 is looking for an Advanced Software- Site Reliability Engineer with the right combination of software engineering skills, experience with cloud services at scale, and passion for quality. The person in this role will support engineering team at all stages of product development from design and architecture to deployment and production support to ensure the highest level of reliability, availability and performance as required by the customers of our advanced physical security solutions.

The annual base salary range for this position is $117,000 - $175,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Triage, debug, and fix issues in our production system that may involve full stack from front-end and application microservices to databases and networking
  • Using monitoring tools identify performance, availability, and cost concerns. Automate monitoring, alerting, and scaling to proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to review architecture and implementation of new features to ensure resilience and scalability
  • Design and implement solutions to eliminate technical debt as it relates to reliability, complexity, and observability
  • Work to co-ordinate incident response and RCAs. Take part in the engineering support on-call rotation
  • Develop troubleshooting processes, tools, and documentation for production support
  • Operate in a Continuous Delivery environment
  • Build operational maturity through automation


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience managing and maintaining large-scale SaaS platforms
  • Experience developing or maintaining software in at least one language (JavaScript, C#, Python, Java)
  • Familiarity with shell scripting (Powershell, Bash)
  • Experience with log aggregation and analysis frameworks (ELK, Azure Log Analytics, Splunk)
  • Understanding of Git or similar version management tools
  • Passion for automation
  • Intrinsic curiosity to identify patterns, understand inner workings of complex systems and how issues emerge in production environments
  • Excellent problem solving and software troubleshooting skills, must be able to diagnose problems quickly and accurately in live, continuous delivery environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Enjoy working on a collaborative team


WE VALUE
  • BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, significant technical experience can be substituted
  • 6 years of experience in software engineering roles
  • Experience developing and maintaining applications on Microsoft Azure, AWS or similar cloud-based platforms
  • Experience with PowerShell, NodeJS, Kusto, or Groovy
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cosmos, Dynamo, Redis or similar)
  • Knowledge of both serverless and container-based application deployment models
  • Experience with CI/CD tools
