If you are passionate about developing cutting-edge algorithms for challenging maritime applications, then consider joining the Advanced Undersea Systems and Technology group at Lincoln Laboratory!

Our diverse team of engineers and scientists develop and demonstrate advanced signal, image, and array processing algorithms for existing and prototype acoustic, RF, and optical sensors. As part of our team, you will have an opportunity to work on a variety of exciting tasks, including:
  • Engaging in the full application-development cycle, ranging from initial white-board brainstorming and concept development to the transitioning of mature capabilities
  • Participating in at-sea sensor test and validation activities
  • Developing theoretical models of physical phenomena, creating laboratory-grade simulations, and refining accuracy with real-world experimental results

We are looking for creative people with a desire for continuous learning to work in an inclusive environment consisting of small teams of hardworking engineers with a common goal of solving difficult problems critical for scientific and national defense applications.

Requirements:

  • PhD in electrical engineering, applied mathematics, mechanical engineering, physics, computer science or related technical field. In lieu of a PhD, applicants with an MS and 3 to 5 years of experience will also be considered.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with diverse audiences
  • Proficiency in a scientific programming language (e.g. MATLAB or Python)


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in digital signal processing, estimation, and tracking algorithm development
    • Plus: experience with array signal processing
    • Plus: experience with adaptive signal processing
  • Experience analyzing or processing multi-element arrays, especially acoustic or RF sensing data
    • Plus: experience processing data sets in high performance computing environments
  • Experience with design trades relevant to multi-channel RF systems
  • Field test experience


Recent Graduate Hiring Range: $145,200-$170,000

Experienced Hiring Range: $145,200-$220,000
