An excellent career opportunity is currently available for an Advanced R&D Engineer/Scientist in the Hydroprocessing Development group within Honeywell UOP's Research and Development organization.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of innovation, working with cross functional teams to develop cutting-edge catalysts and processes to produce both conventional and sustainable fuels. You will report directly to the Manager of the Hydroprocessing group and work from either the Des Plaines or McCook, IL sites on a hybrid schedule.

The annual base salary range for this position is $115000-144000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

The application period for the job is estimated to be 40 days from the job posting date; however, this may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of technologies in the Hydroprocessing area from concept to commercialization
  • Manage the design, planning and execution of experimental programs using pilot plants and/or models for New Product Development, capability, and sales support projects.
  • Provide support to Technical Service in troubleshooting and optimizing performance on commercial units.
  • Provide support to the Sales Support and Engineering functions to improve the competitiveness of commercial offerings and designs.
  • Identify novel technology solutions and author invention disclosures to contribute to the innovation effort at Honeywell UOP.


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science
  • 3+ years of experience in Technology, Engineering, Research & Development, or Technical Service role within the refining and petrochemical industries


WE VALUE
  • Advanced degree (MS, PhD) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science
  • Strong understanding of chemistry/chemical engineering fundamentals and application in process, catalyst and/or adsorbent technology development.
  • Experience in developing and executing experimental plans including the use of statistical tools for data analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to drive technology commercialization
  • Passion for innovation and continuous learning
  • Attention to detail
