As an Advanced Project Engineer here at Honeywell, you will support the Supplier Readiness Mechanical Valuestream (Mech VS). The Project Engineering team works closely with the matrixed Component Design group covering Design, Materials & Stress Engineering. The Project Engineering team directly supports the Mech VS Leaders & Program Managers developing strategies and supporting the execution of Supplier Transition objectives.

Supplier Readiness is a part of Honeywell Corporate Supplier Excellence strategy and one of Honeywell Aerospace's Top priorities. Supplier Readiness focusses on exit suppliers, high impact past due parts and dual source parts. Insource, new suppliers and second source of supply will be utilized to achieve key metrics covering part dual sourcing. The Supplier Readiness Team construction is a cross functional Engineering and ISC Team with dedicated full-time resources.

You will report directly to our Project Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our South Bend, IN location on a Hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Knowledge of the broad Honeywell organization with the ability to make decisions with broad organizational support to achieve the Supplier Readiness initiatives through influence and escalation as necessary.
  • Prepares and presents Engineering Part Analysis (EPA), Transition Design Reviews (TDR), Risk Assessments and Supplier Qualifications. Ensures the appropriate level of reviews are conducted while identifying & implementing opportunities for standardization, cycle time reduction and cost reduction across multiple sites.
  • Prepare MS project execution plans to drive critical path milestones
  • Prepare and track budgets which align with projects in execution
  • Draw on intuition, engineering experience, and judgment to formulate pragmatic actions from diverse information.
  • Coordinate engineering resources (Design, Structures, Chief, etc.) to complete design changes and part substantiation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers to drive technical and schedule adherence.
  • Drive on-time execution of Supplier Readiness objectives by working with Value Stream Leaders and Program Managers to achieve dual sourcing objectives by breaking down technical barriers.
  • Drives execution of Supplier Readiness objectives within the Honeywell technical community through effective communication and collaboration.


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Project Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience working closely with Integrated Supply Chain and Honeywell suppliers on development parts, transition execution and production producibility issues
  • Ability to consistently make timely decisions and balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness, even in the face of complexity
  • Travel is required for this role approximately 20% based on project support required

  • Comfortable using MS project for project plans and execution

The Corporate Strategic Business Group (CORP SBG) at Honeywell is a division focused on corporate-level functions and initiatives that support the overall operations and strategy of the company.
