Within the Lymphoma-Myeloma program, the Advanced Practice Provider Lymphoma Myeloma plays a critical role in supporting innovative clinical research and delivering specialized care to patients participating in clinical trials.
The ideal candidate will have clinical research experience, preferably in Myeloma, and be passionate about advancing patient care through innovative therapies. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week role may require occasional evening and weekend hours to meet clinical trial deadlines. Position Salary: Minimum $117,500 - Midpoint $146,500 - Maximum $176,500

Responsibilities
Conduct clinical assessments at trial required visits and dictate progress notes.
Apply treatment and supportive care plans as required by the research protocol.
Write inpatient and outpatient orders as needed for patients on a research protocol.
Perform telephonic/video patient management as needed for patients on research protocols. Communicate pertinent assessment and management of patients with principle investigators, attending physician and appropriate clinical team members.
Enter appropriate charges for Fast Track or weekend lab visits that are required by the research protocol.
Conduct clinical assessments and patient management of clinical trial participants at regional centers and dictate progress.
Assess patients for protocol eligibility.
Develop Treatment Plan (completes Clinical Content Template (CCT)) and Factsheet as dictated by the research protocol.
Coordinate, evaluate and follow patient participation in clinical trials in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of patients on clinical trials.
Complete required documentation of research activities.
Assist primary investigator in the collection and evaluation of data.
Provide information to clinical teams to assist with management of protocol-related toxicities.
Communicate pertinent patient responses to therapy with principal investigator, attending physician and other appropriate clinical team members.
Communicate patient assessment and appropriate follow-up information with outside clinicians as appropriate.
Educate patient and significant other regarding research trial requirement and potential toxicities.
Report treatment response, toxicities and adverse events to protocol sponsor and the Institutional Review Board (IRB) within the required timeframes.
EDUCATION:
- Required: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
- Required: Master's Degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice.
- May be waived for applicants who obtained recognition as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse from the Texas State Board of Nursing prior to 1/1/2003.
Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.
Physician Assistant
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), except for Physician Assistants who graduated from a PA program prior to 2013.
EXPERIENCE:
- Preferred: At least 1 year of Oncology experience as an Advanced Practice Provider.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION:
Required: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

Written authorization from the Texas Board of Nursing to function as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN or ACNP or ACNPC or ACAGNP or AGACNP or ACNPC-AG or AGACNP or AGNP or ACPNP or ANP or AGNP or AGPCNP or FNP or GNP or PNP or PMHNP or WHNP or APNP). Related authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.
Basic Life Support (BLS). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) If working in the following departments: Pediatric - Patient Care (113100).
MAY BE REQUIRED: Authorization for limited prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing.
Physician Assistant
All of the following:
PA certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants.
Licensed by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners.
MAY BE REQUIRED: Eligible to be granted limited prescriptive authority by the State of Texas.
Must meet the American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) , ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) if working in one of following department: Pediatrics - Patient Care (113100).
