Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing (NP) or Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant required
  • Master's Degree in Physician Assistant preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Current RN license or PA license upon hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient care and outpatient follow-up visits
  • Assist in surgical procedures and patient management
  • Engage in both emergency and elective general surgery cases
  • Collaborate with a team of surgeons and Advanced Practice Providers
  • Work flexible shifts averaging 36 hours per week, including nights and weekends
  • Support mentorship for new graduates and facilitate hands-on surgical experience

Responsibilities

Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider - General Surgery

Location: Chambersburg, PA

Employment Type: Full-Time

What You'll Champion:
  • Diverse practice combining inpatient care, outpatient follow-up visits, surgical first assist responsibilities, and procedure-based patient management.
  • Broad exposure to both emergency general surgery and elective surgical cases, including consults, rounding, triage, and operating room support.
  • Collaborative team environment working alongside three surgeons and two APPs in a well-established general surgery practice.
  • Flexible scheduling model with a mix of day, evening, and overnight coverage averaging approximately 36 hours per week across 15 shifts per month.
  • New graduate-friendly opportunity offering mentorship and hands-on surgical experience across the full continuum of patient care.

Minimum Education:
  • Masters Degree Nurse Practitioner Required or
  • Bachelors Degree Physician Assistant Required
  • Masters Degree Physician Assistant Preferred

Work Experience:
  • 1 year Required

Licenses:
  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner Upon Hire Required or
  • Licensed Physician Assistant Upon Hire Required and
  • Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required or
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:
  • BLS and/or ACLS as appropriate for the clinical role. Upon Hire Required and
  • Nurse Practitioner - board certified by American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Certification Upon Hire Required and
  • Nurse Practitioner - Completion of an accredited program for nurse practitioners Upon Hire Required or
  • Physician Assistant - Graduate of accredited physician assistant program Upon Hire Required
