***Sign-on Bonus***Position SummaryProvides gastroenterology care in the outpatient clinic and hospital setting under the supervision of the gastroenterologist and within applicable scope of practice. Evaluates, diagnoses, and manages gastrointestinal conditions while providing treatment, patient education, medication management, and pre- and post-procedure care.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions.
- Perform histories and physical examinations and develop appropriate treatment and follow-up plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing, laboratory studies, imaging, referrals, and consultations.
- Prescribe medications and therapies within applicable licensure and scope of practice.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, procedures, lifestyle modifications, and treatment plans.
- Assist with minor office and endoscopic procedures and provide pre- and post-procedure care.
- Coordinate care with the supervising gastroenterologist, specialists, and other healthcare providers.
- Maintain timely and accurate EHR documentation, coding, billing, and quality requirements.
- Support clinic operations and provide coverage within scope of practice as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current California NP or PA license and applicable certification.
- Current and unrestricted DEA registration and furnishing license, if applicable.
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Minimum one (1) year of gastroenterology experience highly preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Job Type: Full-time, Variable Shift
Pay: $84-$110/hour
