Position Summary:The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of
Anesthesiology, Division of
Pediatric Anesthesiology, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide care within the Pre-anesthesia Evaluation Center. This position is located in
Milwaukee, WI at Children's Wisconsin - Milwaukee Campus. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.
Position Highlights:- Synthesizes and evaluates the individualized patient/family responses along the continuum of care
- Makes independent judgments and prescribes changes in treatment in consultation with physicians and nurses; negotiates systems, plans and directs the implementation of change related to program plans and standards.

Schedule:- Monday through Friday 40 hours/week
- No weekend or holiday

Department/Division Highlights:Thriving Program: Be part of a dynamic team of 35 fellowship-trained Pediatric Anesthesiologists along with a growing group of Anesthesiology Assistants and Certified Registered Nursing Anesthetists, providing care to more than 25,000 children annually across perioperative anesthesia, critical care, and pain medicine settings.
Qualifications:Preferred Experience:- Previous APP anesthesiology experience preferred.
Minimum Education:Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.
Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.
Minimum Requirements:Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/ Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner Certification Requirements
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- DEA registration must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Physician Assistant- Wisconsin Physician Assistant License
- Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Certification Requirements
