The Advanced Practice Professional (APP) has coordination and clinical skills required for the comprehensive management of critical care medicine patients, (including biological, social and psychological assessments). They will possess specialized skills in the care of patients and families undergoing operative and other invasive procedures. The APP coordinates the involvement of medical/surgical specialty teams necessary to develop a comprehensive plan for the patient and reviews the care plan with the other members of the clinical team, participates in directing that care. The provider will work with the team to ensure adherence to protocol requirements and regulatory guidelines. They will perform diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, peri-procedural services, and coordinates discharge planning to next level of care (as applicable). The APP will participate in the education of residents and medical/nursing students. This position will also be responsible for responding to rapid response alerts. In this capacity, the APP would assess and initiate care for the critically ill patient in the activation. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR NURSE PRACTITIONER: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Graduate from a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master's Degree in Nursing. 2. National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers. 3. Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). AND Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License issued by West Virginia Board of Nursing. 4.
