University of Colorado, Boulder is seeking applications for an
Advanced Practice Nurse! This position delivers comprehensive primary care health services to students in a college setting. This includes delivering care by emphasizing the promotion of health and the prevention and treatment of disease by formulating, with the patient, a health care plan to manage actual and potential health problems. Duties are performed in accordance with personal qualifications, established standards and ethics of medical and nursing practice, and the administrative policies and operational procedures of Medical Services at Wardenburg Student Health Center.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will BePatient Care:
- Perform thorough and accurate medical evaluations and design a treatment plan in accordance with medical guidelines and standards.
- Communicate with and educate patients regarding their medical condition, follow-up care, and preventive measures.
- Clinical decision making: Make appropriate use of Pharmacy, Laboratory, Radiology, Physical Therapy, as well as other ancillary services in accordance with the standard practice of medicine.
- EMR documentation: Prepare and maintain thorough, accurate, and clear medical records which justify the diagnoses, treatment(s) and billing codes.
- Consultation: Readily seek appropriate consultation for unusual or unresponsive cases while following established referral procedures.
Quality Improvement:
- Participate in the implementation of the Medical Clinic Process Improvement activities.
Team Work:
- Participate with other staff, nurse practitioners and physicians, sharing a proportionate patient load and clinical responsibilities.
Continuing Education and Updating of Credentials:
- Participate in accredited continuing medical education to acquire and maintain the professional knowledge and skills needed to carry out the responsibilities of the position.
- Maintain current and appropriate nurse practitioner credentials including a Colorado Nursing License, prescriptive authority (including National Certification and DEA registration).
What You Should Know- Eligible for full prescriptive authority in the state of Colorado within one year of hire.
- DEA Registration or eligibility within one year of hire.
- Eligible for clinical privileges as determined by the WHS Credentialing and Privileging Department.
What We Can Offer- The annual salary range for this position is $85,510 - $125,000, based on a 90% appointment during the academic year (August to May), with time reduced to 50% during the summer months (June & July), and compensation adjusted accordingly.
- Salary is dependent on years of licensure.

What We Require- Registered Advanced Practice Nurse with State of Colorado upon hire.
- National certification as an Advance Practice Nurse.
- Current BLS certification.

What We Would Like You to Have- Advance Practice Nurse with significant experience in provision of Primary Care in an ambulatory care setting.
- Experience in provision of specialty care relevant to our setting, including urgent care, emergency care, gynecology, orthopedics/sports medicine, dermatology, cardiology, endocrinology, internal medicine.
- Experience working in a college setting.
- Demonstrated adaptability to a variety of EMR systems.
