This position reports to:
Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manag

Your role and responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for providing the technical lead and coordination of process improvements for the US - Motion - System Drives Production Lines in the areas of Safety, Delivery, Internal Logistics, Lean Manufacturing, Change Management, Automation and Quality.

The work model for the role is: onsite in New Berlin, WI.

This role is contributing to the High-Power Motion division in North America.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Responsible for identifying and improving safety at the site through use of technology, work cell redesign, and improved ergonomics. Responsible for helping to deliver world class quality by assisting or writing work instructions, completing PFMEAs, poke-yoke, error proofing, and managing ECNs as they arise. Work to ensure compliance and drive improvements to the quality management system.
  • Drive capacity improvements to operations by identifying and executing kaizens to meet customer demand and drive cost savings initiatives.
  • Plan and execute multiple projects simultaneously by utilizing change management skills to manage risks meet project deadline. This individual must work collaboratively with stakeholders, manage phase in / phase out of changes, have robust follow through on changes to ensure success.
  • Spearhead automation improvements to the facility with implementation of key manufacturing process technologies including but not limited to robotics, vision systems, AGVs, and other poke-yoke controls. This may include contractor management, requirement specification development, or other project management tasks of the change.


Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial, manufacturing, or related Engineering/Science.
  • 8+ years of experience working as an Industrial, Manufacturing, or Quality, Engineer.
  • Basic understanding of CAD Software (Autodesk/AutoCAD preferred) .
  • Working knowledge of ERP software, preferably SAP.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience or Exposure to a Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Experience working with Smart Tools.
