Eaton's Electrical sector is currently hiring an Advanced Manufacturing & Digital Solutions Engineer to join the team. This on-site position that is based out of our Airdrie, AB Eaton location and offers benefits from day one.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $82000 - $102000 a year.

What You Will Do
As an Advanced Manufacturing & Digital Solutions Engineer, you will support plant and CI leadership by delivering practical digital solutions that improve visibility, performance, and execution on the shop floor.
Digital Manufacturing & Industry 4.0 Execution
• Support the deployment of Industry 4.0 initiatives focused on data connectivity, visualization, and process monitoring.
• Develop and maintain digital tools that support operational KPIs, production tracking, and visual management.
• Collaborate with CI and Manufacturing Engineering teams to integrate digital solutions into Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.
OT & Asset Connectivity (Ignition Champion)
• Act as the plant OT champion for asset connectivity, responsible for enabling, sustaining, and improving connections from manufacturing assets to the Ignition platform.
• Support configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Ignition gateways, tags, alarms, historians, and visualizations to ensure reliable data availability.
• Interface with SCADA and PLC systems (e.g., Allen Bradley/Rockwell, Beckhoff or equivalent) to support machine connectivity, data mapping, programming, and basic troubleshooting.
• Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, and IT to diagnose connectivity issues, performance gaps, and data quality problems; drive root cause and corrective actions.
• Apply cybersecurity and network-awareness best practices when working with OT systems; coordinate changes through appropriate change management.
• Create and maintain clear OT documentation (network diagrams, tag standards, connectivity guides) and support user training for sustained adoption.
Application Development & Cloud Migration
• Lead or support the migration of legacy tools (e.g., complex Microsoft Access databases used as visual boards) to modern, cloud-based architectures.
• Design, develop, and maintain solutions using the Microsoft 365 full stack, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, SharePoint, and Teams integration.
• Implement cloud-native components using Microsoft Azure (Azure SQL, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, App Services, identity and security concepts).
• Design data models and pipelines leveraging Snowflake or equivalent cloud data platforms where appropriate.
• Apply software development best practices including version control, testing, documentation, and security-by-design.
Data, Analytics & Automation
• Structure, clean, and model manufacturing data to improve data quality and usability.
• Automate manual data collection, reporting, and workflows using low-code and pro-code approaches.
• Develop dashboards and visual management tools that support daily management, tiered meetings, and CI reviews.
Project & Change Enablement
• Manage small to medium digital manufacturing projects from concept through deployment.
• Work closely with users to translate operational needs into technical requirements.
• Support training, adoption, and continuous improvement of deployed solutions.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
• College diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, automation, digital manufacturing, or IT-enabled operational environments.
• Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.
• Demonstrated experience developing solutions using the Microsoft 365 / Power Platform ecosystem (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, SharePoint).
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational data models.
• Hands-on experience with at least one general-purpose programming language (e.g., Python, C#, JavaScript).
• Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
• 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, automation, digital manufacturing, or IT-enabled operational environments.
• Experience with configuring and connecting assets to Kepware.
• Experience with Snowflake, data warehousing, or advanced analytics platforms.
• Exposure to AI or machine learning concepts applied to manufacturing or operations.
• Experience with REST APIs, system integration, or data pipelines.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services relevant to application development and data storage.
• Experience designing or migrating legacy databases or tools (e.g., Microsoft Access) to modern cloud-based solutions.
• Familiarity with OT/IT integration concepts, machine data, or IIoT platforms.
• Experience supporting shop-floor visual management or production control systems.
