Advanced Engineer, Electrical

Job Summary

Nidec Minster Corporation has an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineer. Nidec Minster is an international industrial capital goods equipment manufacturer. We produce precision machinery while incorporating a wide variety of control technologies. Control systems are comprised of hardware and software required to support PLC's, industrial PC's, HMI's, and Servo systems connected via industrial networks. We have an immediate opening in our Electrical Engineering Department for an engineer seeking to implement state of the art control systems including hardware, software, and servo systems. The position requires working with customers, sales, and vendors to integrate these technologies into industrial products and solutions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Install and commission controls on equipment in the metal forming industry. This involves working with PLC's, HMI's, VFD's and other electrical components.
  • Collaborate with an engineering team to procure and build industrial controls. This includes maintaining CAD drawings and BOM while upholding design standards and build practices.
  • Provide advanced field service support during installation of custom integrated controls.
  • Interact with customers, design teams, and vendors to define scope, plans and product deliverables.
  • Continue to advance internal proficiencies while collaborating with other NP&A engineering groups to align products for a common look and feel.
  • Other job duties as assigned.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering Technology strongly preferred or associate's degree with equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ year of electrical engineering experience.
  • Strongly preferred with work experience in a manufacturing, industrial, automation or equipment design environment.
  • Specific experience with PLC's, HMI's and servo controls in a manufacturing or factory automation setting.
  • Experience in programming languages such as VB.net, C#, C++, or C would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc).
  • Experience in WPF or WinUI UI frameworks a plus.
  • Able to interact and thrive in a dynamic team environment to achieve organizational goals while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex electrical and automation systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Position requires 10% travel, some international.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or other industrial control platforms.
  • Experience with machine design, manufacturing equipment, or large industrial systems.
  • Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, UL, CE, and other applicable electrical standards.
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams.
