Full Job Description
Position Summary

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) works independently or in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to deliver services specified by their specialty. Palms Medical Group (PMG) APRN duties are tailored to the family unit in which direct care, health promotion, disease prevention and counseling are offered across the patient's lifespan.

Description of Primary Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for patient care
  2. Provide necessary medical services to patients of PMG within his/her field of training in accordance with stated policies, procedures and protocols of PMG.
  3. Identify him/herself as an APRN and wear identification badge at all times.
  4. Exhibit professionalism when greeting and treating patients in the clinic.
  5. Educate, counsel and guide patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle habits.
  6. Prescribe medication under as defined by State and Federal laws within their scope of practice.
  7. Develop treatment plans for acute and chronic diseases.
  8. Preform diagnostic tests, screening evaluations and conduct patient exams.
  9. Provide other services as granted by delineation of privileges.
  10. Responsible for coverage
  11. Be available for contact after hours to treat or triage medical conditions.
  12. Share in providing coverage for extended office hours of PMG as approved by the Board of Directors.
  13. Responsible for administrative duties
  14. Read and adhere to the Provider Policy Manual
  15. Assist in medical data collection for UDS and grant applications.
  16. Participate in QA/QI activities as directed by the CMO.
  17. Agree to carry out all required responsibilities of the corporation relative to patient charges, third party reimbursement, etc.
  18. Maintain the electronic health record (EHR) as per current PMG policies and procedures.
  19. Advise the appropriate member of management as defined by the institutions organizational chart, of any problems you perceive with PMG operations.
  20. Participate in community service and health promotion programs.
  21. Participate in the review of all medical policies, procedures and protocols.
  22. Perform any other duty assigned by CMO or CEO to improve the efficiency of PMG.

Licenses & Certifications:
  1. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
  2. Current and Valid APRN license in the State of Florida
  3. Current BLS (basic life support) Certification

  1. Effectively and tactfully communicates complex and/or technical information to co-workers, patients and/or vendors
