Linux Systems Administrator - AWS Cloud Infrastructure

Scottsdale, AZ

We are seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to support the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA) Ground Management and Integration (GMI) Program, providing infrastructure support for ServiceNow MID Servers, AWS cloud environments, Linux systems, and enterprise integrations within a secure DoD environment. This role combines expertise in Linux administration, AWS cloud infrastructure, automation, cybersecurity compliance, ServiceNow platform support, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure reliable operations across mission-critical ground segment systems supporting national defense and space programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and maintain ServiceNow MID Servers supporting Discovery, integrations, and future platform expansion.
  • Administer and maintain Linux-based infrastructure including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, and Ubuntu environments.
  • Manage AWS cloud resources including EC2, RDS, VPCs, IAM, Security Groups, CloudWatch, and related networking services.
  • Configure and maintain infrastructure supporting ServiceNow application nodes, databases, and associated platform services.
  • Implement system hardening, patch management, and security controls in accordance with STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, FedRAMP, FISMA, and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
  • Monitor system health, performance, availability, and capacity across Linux and cloud infrastructure environments.
  • Troubleshoot Linux operating system, network, cloud infrastructure, and ServiceNow platform issues.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and related automation tools.
  • Create and maintain deployment automation, configuration management processes, and operational scripts using Bash, Python, or similar languages.
  • Manage backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery processes for infrastructure components.
  • Coordinate with network, cybersecurity, and engineering teams to implement firewall rules, routing configurations, and enclave connectivity requirements.
  • Maintain architecture documentation, system diagrams, runbooks, standard operating procedures, and configuration management records.
  • Support Agile development and operations teams within the Ground Management and Integration (GMI) program.
  • Contribute to enterprise and ground segment infrastructure supporting SUPERNOVAs, NOVAs, Ground Entry Points (GEPs), and associated ground networks within the PWSA architecture.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related STEM discipline.
  • 5+ years of job-related experience supporting Linux systems, cloud infrastructure, or enterprise platform administration.
    • Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of Linux system administration experience in enterprise environments.
  • 2+ years of hands-on AWS experience supporting EC2, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and cloud networking services.
  • Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, and/or Ubuntu operating systems.
  • Experience supporting ServiceNow infrastructure, MID Servers, integrations, or enterprise service management platforms.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools including Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
  • Strong scripting and automation experience using Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of Linux security hardening, vulnerability remediation, system patching, and compliance management.
  • Understanding of secure cloud architectures and compliance frameworks including FedRAMP, FISMA, STIGs, and CIS Benchmarks.
  • Experience with AWS networking, security groups, routing, VPNs, and cloud security best practices.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure, networking, and application support issues.
  • Familiarity with Agile development and DevOps practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent Linux certification.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
  • Experience supporting classified Department of Defense, Space, Aerospace, Satellite, Ground Segment, or National Security programs.
  • Experience supporting ServiceNow Discovery and enterprise integration capabilities.
  • Experience with cloud-native monitoring, observability, and performance management tools.
  • Knowledge of Ground Segment architectures, space systems infrastructure, or satellite operations environments.
