Full Job Description
The Role

The ADTS Senior Engineer provides subject matter expertise supporting the MAST system, with a focus on hardware and software engineering activities. This role supports system engineering lifecycle efforts including analysis, troubleshooting, and verification activities associated with the ADTS test bench. You'll collaborate with platform stakeholders to maintain integration schedules, evaluate system requirements, and ensure technical solutions align with program objectives. The position requires strong analytical capability, hands-on engineering experience, and the ability to operate effectively within structured engineering and acquisition processes.

Why DSE

DSE doesn't just ask for your experience, it rewards it. DSE's PTO program is experience-based rather than tenure-based, meaning the relevant industry experience you bring with you can qualify you for a higher PTO allocation from day one, rather than starting over at the bottom like you would at most employers. It's a rare structure in this industry, where most companies only reward the tenure you earn after you join, not the years of expertise you bring with you.

That same philosophy carries through the rest of the benefits package:
  • Starting salary range: $130,000 to $180,000 annually
  • 100% company-paid medical and dental premiums for employees (50% for dependents)
  • 401(k) with up to a 4% company match
  • Fully paid life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance, no cost to you
  • Employer-funded FSA plus HRA contributions toward your deductible
  • Experience-based PTO: your prior relevant experience can qualify you for a higher PTO allocation from day one, plus the option to purchase additional PTO
  • 11 paid holidays (6 national, 5 floating)
  • Tuition reimbursement to support continued professional growth

Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering subject matter expertise in support of MAST hardware and software development, integration, and sustainment efforts
  • Support the Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process, including preparation, participation, and documentation activities
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Problem Trouble Reports (PTRs) using the ADTS test bench
  • Develop and support test planning activities, including creation of test procedures and generation of technical reports
  • Evaluate system requirements and provide engineering analysis to support design, integration, and verification activities
  • Coordinate with platform teams to support customer integration schedules and technical milestones
  • Assist in identifying technical risks, issues, and performance gaps, and recommend corrective actions
  • Support verification and validation efforts to ensure system functionality meets operational and program requirements
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, program personnel, and stakeholders to resolve technical challenges
  • Maintain engineering documentation and contribute to configuration and change management processes

Required Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering

Required Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering role
  • Experience with engineering SME support, including but not limited to the SETR process, analysis and troubleshooting of PTRs, oversight of test planning, and CDRLs, procedures, and reports
  • Must work onsite 100% of the time at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, St. Mary's County, Maryland
  • Must possess a Secret security clearance; U.S. Citizenship required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements
