Job DescriptionColonial Behavioral Health is seeking a skilled leader for the forensic and discharge planning programs which includes Crisis Intervention (CIT), Crisis Intervention Team Assessment Center (CITAC), forensic discharge planning, not guilty by reason of insanity conditional release, and other services which intersect behavioral health and law enforcement. This is an opportunity for an innovative professional to improve services offered in the community and in our new 14,000 square foot center.
The Administrator of Forensic and Discharge Planning coordination, oversight, and administrative management of programs and interventions across sequential intercepts.
Job Duties - Collaborates with law enforcement, courts, hospitals and stakeholders to improve service delivery
- Supports community initiatives related to Marcus Alert protocols, co-response, forensic discharge planning and other programs
- Monitors budgets, compliance and reporting for grants, state and regional funding
- Supervises staff and supports their professional development
- Drives system change across the service continuum
- Drafts recommendations for contractual agreements to build capacity
- Provides direct services as required, including restoration education, discharge planning
Work Schedule This is a full-time, exempt management position overseeing the operations of a 24-hour program. The schedule is primarily Monday through Friday during standard business hours; however, flexibility is required to meet the needs of a program that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Qualifications (EEO) - Ability to speak effectively before groups with poise, voice control, and confidence
- Knowledge of mental illness, substance use and intellectual and developmental disorders
- Knowledge of law enforcement and the criminal justice system
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly and effectively relay these new concepts to others
- Possess a basic understanding of barriers to discharge, access to treatment, law enforcement and crisis services
- Minimum of 3 years of management experience in mental health, substance use disorders and crisis interventions required
- Minimum of 5 yearsexperience in the field of criminal justice, counseling, public administration, social services or related field. required
- Valid driver's license is required
- Bachelor's Degree in a human services field required
- Must hold a valid QMHP certification required
- DBHDS Preadmission Screening Certificate, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire required
