Overview

The Vermont State Recovery Office, located within the Agency of Administration (AoA), is seeking an experienced finance and operations leader to serve as our Administrative Services Director IV. The ideal candidate has an extensive background in the budgeting and management of State and Federal funds, is organized and detail-oriented, communicates and coordinates effectively, and is an experienced leader. This position will play a leadership role in a dynamic team that interacts with every Agency and Department within the state.

The Recovery Office currently operates in a hybrid working environment. Permission to participate in telework is applied for on an individual basis.

This position, Administrative Services Director IV - Limited Service (Job Requisition #55610), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized through June 7, 2031. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in accounting, business or public administration or a related field AND three (3) years or more of professional-level experience performing and supervising (directly or indirectly) administrative functions for a moderate sized office, department or agency.

OR

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND five (5) years or more of professional-level experience performing and supervising (directly or indirectly) administrative functions for a moderate sized office, department or agency.

OR

Bachelor's degree AND six (6) years or more of professional-level experience performing and supervising (directly or indirectly) administrative functions for a moderate sized office, department or agency.

OR

High School diploma or equivalent AND ten (10) years or more of professional-level experience performing and supervising (directly or indirectly) administrative functions for a moderate sized office, department or agency.

OR

One (1) year or more as an Administrative Services Director III with the State of Vermont.

Preferred Qualifications

Only administrative work experience is qualifying. Administrative support includes those functions which keep the organization running or provide the resources for others to provide the programmatic work (e.g., accounting, budget management, grant administration, finance, human resources, payroll, purchasing, or space management).

Special Requirements

For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.
