Summary

This position is located in the Office of the Commissioner for Trademarks, Office of the Deputy Commissioner for Trademark Administration. This position provides supervision of assigned personnel and a wide variety of administrative management functions including administrative policies, procedures, and directives development; human resources management, position management, budget and finances; information technology; procurement and property management; and records management.

The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia. Presence at the Alexandria, VA campus is required for this role, as it includes on site functions that must be performed in person. Position may be eligible for situational telework in accordance with agency policy/business unit discretion. The agency currently allows for 52 hours of telework per calendar year.

  5. You are delighted to manage and support a full range of administrative activities for Trademarks related to budget, human resources, information technology, procurement and maintenance agreements, property management, and records custodianship.
  6. You are enthusiastic about serving as the lead business unit point of contact for services related to timekeeping, travel management, ethics clearances, processing of employee training expenses and employee awards. Monitors business unit for timely preparation of annual performance plans and appraisals.

Qualifications

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized Experienceis experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, you must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service: For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-12.

Specialized experience for this position includes:

  • Experience leading a team in a diverse, confidential, senior leader centric, high visibility executive-level organization, and;
  • Experience supporting cross-functional planning, directing, analyzing, and implementing a variety of operational, technical, and administrative processes, procedures, and programs, in support of federal agency activities, and;
  • Experience utilizing administrative systems (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, USA Performance, Concur, Government Purchase Card, Momentum, etc.) on a recurring basis to produce extremely high-quality work, and;
  • Experience planning and coordinating conferences and committee meetings for large-scale audiences both inside and outside of an organization.


Selective Placement Factor:

Education may not be substituted for specialized experience at this grade level.
