Definition and Class CharacteristicsCOUNTYWIDE PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITYJoin the highly professional and team-oriented Treasurer-Tax Collector's Office and use your journey-level technical and analytical skills to perform fiscal and administrative responsibilities supporting property tax billing, collections, and treasury operations. This lead position performs the full range of duties and assignments vital to the accurate and timely collection of property tax revenues that fund county services, schools, and special districts throughout Nevada County. The vital duties include:
- Organizing, analyzing, and processing property tax billing and collection data for secured, unsecured, and supplemental taxes
- Studying, interpreting, and applying the Revenue and Taxation Code, related legislative updates, and departmental reference manuals
- Maintaining accurate tax collection records, payment plans, redemptions, and delinquency tracking
- Managing contracts for the office, including preparation, tracking, and administration
- Coordinates and supports the annual tax-defaulted property auction process
- Analyze legislative issues and prepare reports on their impact for the Treasurer- Tax Collector's office
- May represent the County or department during community projects and events
- Collaborating and partnering with the Assessor's Office, Auditor-Controller, other county departments, and external agencies
- Problem-solving and responding to public inquiries regarding tax bills, payments, delinquencies, and related matters
An Administrative Analyst II is an integral part of the Treasurer-Tax Collector's team! This position is crafted for individuals who have a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, business administration, or a related field. Also, two years of experience at a level equivalent to Nevada County's Administrative Analyst I classification is required.
