Description

The Department of Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting at NYU College of Dentistry is seeking qualified adjunct clinical instructors to guide dental hygiene students in developing the necessary knowledge and skills to provide oral health care to a diverse patient population. Clinical instructors are responsible for providing hands-on instruction and support in clinical and/or pre-clinical courses.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate salary range for this position is USD $50- UDS $60. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess a BS or BA degree or higher, with GPA of at least 3.0, in Dental Hygiene or related field from a school accredited by the U.S. Department of Education, a minimum of two (2) years of full or part-time clinical experience, and current NY State Dental Hygiene License. Current NY state certification in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide/oxygen sedation-preferred not required

Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development to maintain a broad knowledge of evidence-based research in teaching and to diversity and university initiatives supportive of diversity and inclusion. Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be comfortable using computers and has experience with entering data into Electronic Health Records.
