State specific pay scales for this role are as follows:
$63,410 to $117,348 (NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)
$57,646 to $106,680 (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)
$51,881 to $96,012 (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV)
In CA: Typical hiring range is $81,341 to $112,974
The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- To collaborate with the Product Management team with the goal of meeting profit and growth objectives to assigned PPA lines of business.
- The actuarial analyst I will provide insight of collected data to help make informed decisions specific to assigned product lines. Collect and compile statistical data for additional analysis.
- Participate in programming, preparation and interpretation of actuarial reports.
- Participate in projects involving product development or financial management.
- Explain proposals and findings to various parties, from company executives to department of Insurance. Develop new ideas that improve the department's performance
- To provide meaningful reports to Sr. management that will further promote understanding of the assigned PPA line.
- Support the actuary team with the state filing process presenting evidence to justify rate changes submitted to the Department of Insurance.
- To provide support for the Pricing Workstation expansion, modify the existing workbook by adding more features for various product lines.
- Regular attendance at work on a full-time schedule of at least 8 hours and 40 hours per week
- Other functions may be assigned
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably with a major in either math, actuarial science, finance, economics, or other quantitative fields
Experience:
- Completion of the Summer 2026 Internship at Mercury Insurance
- Completion of at minimum 2 Actuarial exams
