About the Role

Redhorse is transforming how the Department of Defense (DoD) utilizes data and technology. We are seeking an Acquisition & Sustainment Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition & Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)). In this role, you will provide vital input and coordination to the team's data and analytics products, ensuring stakeholders are aligned and outcomes directly support DoD decision-making and investment priorities.

This is a high-impact role focused on execution, coordination, and delivery excellence, with significant opportunity to influence how intelligent data products are developed, deployed, and scaled across the DoD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate as a key member in the end-to-end delivery for a prototype cross-functional team, ensuring milestones, timelines, and outcomes align with DoD objectives.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert coordinating across stakeholders, product managers, data scientists, engineers, and designers to inform on context engineering and drive execution.
  • Translate mission needs and stakeholder priorities into clear delivery plans, roadmaps, and execution strategies.
  • Partner with design and technical leads to ensure user needs are incorporated.
  • Support efforts to ensure delivery practices align with government standards, security requirements, and accessibility guidelines.


Required Experience/Clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Technology, Engineering, or related discipline).
  • 10+ years of experience across any type of acquisition and sustainment portfolios.
  • Demonstrated success participating in cross-functional teams, preferably within government or defense environments.
  • Strong understanding of data visualization.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience briefing senior leaders.
  • Experience working in agile environments.
  • Secret clearance required to start.
