Position SummaryThe Accounts Payable Analyst primary responsibilities will include high-volume invoice processing, support with accounting needs, support with department budget and various financial matters for the Legal Department and Player Health group. This person will also be responsible for researching and resolving invoicing issues, vendor remittance questions and general accounts payable inquiries. They will provide internal and external clients with analytical support on an as needed basis.
Major Responsibilities- Processing 300+ invoices monthly from numerous international and domestic vendors, including entering relevant information into financial database
- Managing Legal Tracker e-billing platform (including matter setup/management, vendor management, invoice management, reports management, timekeeper management, and new user training)
- Managing department matters on various platforms, including SAP (vendor management, financial reporting) and Corcentric (invoice management)
- Assisting in budgeting and business planning, including providing information and reports to members of the key stakeholders within Legal and Finance regarding analyses of department projections, P&L, etc.
- Preparing monthly close/year-end close reports for Legal Department and Player Health (including subgroup reports)
- Tracking all department expenses (including non-departmental expenses, team billable expenses, etc.) and related matter management information (e.g., project codes, account codes)
- Assisting with special projects to track spending, revenues, and other financial information, including supporting the Intellectual Property Group (e.g., preparing cost estimates for trademark filing programs, managing the US Patent and Trademark Office deposit account), tracking expenses billed back to teams, and assisting with appropriate allocation of expenses to business units, Regional Offices, and affiliate leagues
- Invoice management and reporting for FIBA invoices Invoice management and reporting for Benefits/National Basketball Players Association Maintaining information and providing analyses and reports to Legal Department senior leaders regarding law firm rates (including increases, discounts, and alternative fee arrangements)
- Manage NBA Policies Regarding Outside Legal Services (including compliance, revisions)
- Track current hourly rates and request for rate changes across top US-based law firms
- Managing global vendor relationships for Legal Department and Player Health vendors, including communicating with vendors regarding payment, reconciling disputes, etc.
- Maintaining Legal Department accounting files/information
- Coordinating with the Finance Department regarding all Legal Department and Player Health matters
Required Education/Professional Experience- College Degree
- 5 - 8 years of experience in Finance, 3+ years in Accounts Payable required
- Experience with financial data entry/processing
- Familiarity with basic finance/accounting documents (e.g., P&L) and concepts
- Experience at a law firm or corporate legal department

Salary Range:$100,000-$120,000
