About the Role

Kitsap Credit Union is searching for an Accounting Supervisor to work hybrid out of the corporate Bremerton office. This position is responsible for the accounting operations of the Credit Union by overseeing financial processing and reporting, providing leadership and supervising staff.

Salary Range: $91,536.68 - $120,000 depending on experience

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM

Bonus Target: 10% potential incentive of base pay

Principal Accountabilities

  • Responsible for accurate and timely submission of financial reports, bank and general ledger reconciliations, tax reporting, and Call Report.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close.
  • Oversee accounts payables/receivables ensure proper reporting and internal controls are in place.
  • Ensure fixed assets are maintained, accurate depreciation and amortization of expenses, and preparation of annual unclaimed property reports.
  • Direct the preparation of financial transactions, ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and with regulatory and policy guidelines.
  • Manage departmental preparation for audits and exams. Work with auditors during financial statement audit.
  • Oversees monthly reconciliation and maintenance of all general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain organizational profitability model assumptions and methodologies.
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Present financial information to various levels of management as needed.
  • Act as lead representative for accounting on corporate projects, determining appropriate staff to be assigned on project team while providing ongoing support. Manage internal projects as needed.


Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university in Accounting or Finance.
  • Five years of related accounting or financial institution experience.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and concepts.

Working Conditions

This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a minimum of 75% of the time.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machines.
  • Occasionally ascends/descends stairs,
  • Constantly positions self in work environment,
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with peers, supervisors, vendors and employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions,
  • Must be able to detect objects at a distance,
  • On occasion will move up to 20 pounds of office objects,
  • Works in an indoor office environment but expected to attend meetings in buildings that require travel in outdoor weather conditions.
