Full Job Description
This position is mainly remote but will need to report to our West Chester office as requested. Incumbent must be comfortable with commute. Annual salary is $95,000-$100,000.

Job Summary: The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and supporting the accurate, timely execution of financial and accounting activities. This role applies strong core competencies in account knowledge and prior professional experience to manage key functions, provide guidance and direction to accounting staff, and lead special projects that support the department's financial objectives, compliance requirements, and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general account reconciliations, treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, prepaid and accrued expenses, sales and cost of sales, fixed assets, and other relevant transaction classes.
  • Review financial data for accuracy, identify issues, and support the effective execution of daily accounting activities.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including investigation and explanation of variances between actual results and budget expectations.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight to Staff Accountants, support skill development, and encourage professional growth.
  • Review and provide feedback on direct reports' work product to ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness.
  • Balance team and individual responsibilities while promoting accountability and supporting achievement of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to recurring annual projects, including tax compliance, internal and external audits, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of compliance requirements, internal controls, and confidentiality standards related to fiscal and payroll information.
  • Apply data collection, analysis, and evaluation skills to support sound decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Organize, prioritize, and track multiple action items while working both independently and collaboratively in a remote environment with minimal instruction in fast-paced but supportive corporate environment.
  • Occasionally participate in the biweekly payroll process to maintain working knowledge and provide operational support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Candidate Requirements:
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs). To succeed in the Accounting Supervisor position, candidates should possess the following KSAs:
    • REQUIRED
      • Three years' minimum of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience;
      • Superior attention to detail along with superior organizational and time-management skills;
      • Ability to balance competing priorities and adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines;
      • Experience working independently and in a remote operating environment, while managing time constraints;
      • Effective communication with third parties, management and staff level positions;
      • Computer proficiency, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Web-based applications;
      • Collaborative problem-solving skills and the ability to provide logical and creative solutions; and
      • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills.
      • Prior supervisory experience.
    • PREFERRED
      • Knowledge of risk assessment design and delivery; key internal control design, implementation and monitoring, and key metric development, tracking, and reporting;
      • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central; and
      • Experience conducting oral presentations, facilitating training and preparing written reports and training guides.
    • Background Experiences.The following are required unless otherwise noted:
      • BS/BA in Accounting/Finance or similar related field, MBA or CPA certification a plus
      • Solid working knowledge of GAAP. Able to prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
      • Minimum 3 years of related experience in a similar role.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, hybrid exempt position located in the Company's West Chester office; the incumbent is expected to be present and accessible for at least 40 hours per week, subject to approved leave time, travel and other absences as described in the Employee Handbook or as otherwise agreed by the Company. The Company's standard hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
