The Position: The Accounting Specialist is a full-time position reporting to the Manager of Contracting. This role supports the efficient administration of provider contracting, credentialing, accounts payable, and participant Share of Cost processes. This position ensures accurate financial transactions, compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements, and maintenance of provider and vendor records in support of PACE operations.
The hourly pay range for the Accounting Specialist position at Center for Elders' Independence is $33.83 to $50.75. Placement within the range is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, abilities, internal equity, and market data, consistent with CEI's annual compensation review and established compensation practices.
Duties and Responsibilities- Coordinate initial and recredentialing activities for contracted providers.
- Maintain credentialing files in accordance with CMS, DHCS, and organizational requirements.
- Monitor provider compliance with contract requirements.
- Monitor expiring licenses and certifications and initiate renewals.
- Prepare credentialing reports and audits.
- Manage the three-way and two-way matching processes and work with business partners to resolve issues.
- Verify documentation for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Responsible for monthly Share of Cost invoicing and reconciliation of payments.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal customers to identify and correct issues.
- Process invoices accurately and timely, mail payments, and maintain filing records.
- Support annual audits and regulatory reviews.
- Essential functions include provider credentialing support, accounts payable processing, documentation review, vendor communication, Share of Cost invoicing and reconciliation, and maintenance of accurate records in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications- At least two years of experience in healthcare administration, accounting, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
