Accounting ManagerToronto, CanadaTo Live is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our Finance team in this full-time role.
Reporting to Controller, this position is responsible for the general ledger: preparation of journal entries for monthly general ledger close; the preparation and distribution of financial statements and reports. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting journal entries, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies. This position will oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead month-end and year-end close, journals, reconciliations, and accrual
- Prepare monthly financial and management reports, including Budget vs. Actual analysis for review and approval.
- Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cash Management daily functions ensuring accuracy, controls, and adherence to policy. Including staff supervision and training
- Review of inventory, assets, treasury transactions, reconciliations, and daily accounting routines.
- Assist with completion of the monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory filings.
- Support the annual audit process under the direction of the Controller.
- Monitor cash flow activities and requirements for the day-to-day business operations.
- Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements within Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Cash Management functions.
- Function as key bank liaison: Coordinate and resolve various issues with bank such as cleared check differences, bank fee anomalies, targeted balance calculations, corporate visa card and enhancements to online services.
- Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies & procedures.
General:- Function as backup to the Controller.
- Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller, Director of Finance, and/or VP of Finance & Administration
Job Specifications:- Five to eight years of similar experience in full cycle accounting processes, financial analysis, and financial statement preparation.
- Industry experience in an NFP and/or theatre operations environment an asset.
- Completion of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) program an asset.
- Strong financial system and reporting proficiency, including in-depth spreadsheet modeling.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
- Excellent analytical, strong detail orientation and problem-solving skills
- Effective initiative and communication skills.
- Excellent planning and organizing skills to coordinate multiple priorities and deadlines.
Working Conditions- Flexibility in hours and schedules and include work on nights, statutory holidays and weekends as required.
- Lack of natural light in workplace.
- Travel between TO Live venues as required.
