Accounting Manager Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced
Accounting Manager to oversee core accounting functions, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership abilities, and a proven track record of maintaining accurate financial records while driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage the monthly and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Oversee the fixed asset accounting process, including asset additions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Manage commission calculations and payment processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established policies.
- Prepare and submit governmental, regulatory, and industry reports as required.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support annual audits and serve as a primary contact for external auditors.
- Analyze financial results and provide meaningful insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Perform variance analysis and review balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency within the accounting function.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments and provide accounting guidance as needed.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
- Proven experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
