The Accounting Manager oversees the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of programs or affiliates, ensuring accurate, timely, and audit-ready financial records in compliance with GAAP, funder requirements, and organizational policies. This role plays a key part in managing NetSuite financial operations, supporting grant reporting, strengthening internal controls, and leading continuous process improvements. The Accounting Manager also serves as a primary liaison with auditors and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the full accounting cycle in NetSuite, including general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements
Review bank, balance sheet, and restricted fund reconciliations; ensure timely resolution of discrepancies
Manage grant-related accounting, including tracking restricted funds, cost allocations, and supporting grant reporting requirements
Ensure compliance with GAAP, grant agreements, and government or foundation funding guidelines
Prepare and analyze financial statements, budget-to-actual reports, and variance analyses for management and funders
Coordinate and manage annual audits, including preparation of audit schedules and serving as primary point of contact for auditors
Develop, document, and enhance internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures
Lead process improvements and system enhancements within NetSuite, including reporting, workflows, and integrations
Supervise, mentor, and review work of accounting staff; provide training and performance feedback
Partner with program and finance leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
Support special projects, system implementations, and cross-functional initiatives as needed
Requirements:

Hands-on experience using NetSuite for general ledger, reporting, and month-end close
Experience with grant accounting, restricted funds, and compliance reporting
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Proven experience managing audits and complex financial reporting
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in nonprofit, social services, healthcare, or government-funded organizations
Experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions in NetSuite

Compensation: $110,000 Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
