Position Summary ACCOUNTING MANAGER (SENIOR)Broad responsibility and leadership for overall administration function(s). Serves as the primary advisor to Division staff on administration of programs and systems and provides interface to customer, external agencies, or corporate as required. Participates in determining and implementing longer-term strategic objectives with impact on profitable division growth and customer service. Typically a staff level at a medium size division (based on sales volume, number of facilities and employment levels, and business and customer complexity) over one or several administration functional areas. Provides leadership to other team leaders and professional staff.
Functional areas within administration include- Finance: general and specialized accounting (e.g. cost or tax accounting); audit; financial analysis and budgeting; payroll; and related areas.
- Human Resources: staffing; employee relations; affirmative action; compensation and benefits; training and development; and related areas.
- Information Systems: computer operations; application development and support; systems analysis; technical and computer equipment support; telecommunications; database administration; network analysis; and related areas.
- Marketing/Contracts: contract administration; cost estimating; market research; product marketing; and related areas.
- Communications: audio-visual; graphics; public and media relations.
Essential FunctionsResponsible for division administrative programs and systems with varied and/or multiple functions. Develops new approaches to resolve administrative systems problems by implementing new processes and/or efficiency improvements. Creates guidelines and policies for division use. Interprets and translates needs of internal or external customers and develops strategies to satisfy these requirements. Develops measures to evaluate results and success of programs with both objective and subjective impact.
Highly visible position with primary responsibility for functions involving substantial division resources and/or revenue. Deploys resources and assists other team leaders in the appropriate allocation of people and capital. Represents Parker EMFD to government agencies and/or customer audiences. Initiates and maintains contacts with important decision makers. Independently and/or through others takes action and makes decisions with major profit and loss impact.
Qualifications- Years of experience: 10+ years of accounting experience, including increasing responsibility and overall leadership of projects and teams for5+ years.
- Education requirement: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or a similar discipline, and progressive career experience with specialized training related to the field of accounting expertise. An M.B.A. or Master's degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the described role and responsibilities and achieve the desired results.
- Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serves as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
- Thorough understanding of business and financial systems and controls, contractual terms, and regulatory requirements. Ability to control costs and effectively implement programs with impact to division-wide efforts. Highly effective and persuasive in developing and maintaining customer/internal client relationships.
