Job Summary

The Accounting Manager will support the preparation of the month-end financial processing for the group of companies under the Pure Flavor® brand. This position includes reconciliation of accounts, preparation of supporting schedules, adjusting entries, variance and ratio analysis and financial statement review. The position will monitor spend levels to help identify trends and variances, ensuring that the company's finance goals and objectives are being consistently met.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor the Finance team's responsibilities; including invoicing, accounts receivables, accounts payables, Growers' pay, and inventory management.
  • Support month-end and year-end activities of audit reviews and close processes; prepare and publish financial statements, including account reconciliations, variance analysis and commentary
  • Provide leadership to the Finance team with respect to performance management, scheduling, employee relations, awareness of business context/profitability as well as training/development of staff members.
  • Responsible for inter-company transactions and reconciliation process.
  • Accountable to the consolidation process, providing accurate, consistent results.
  • Provide cash management and inter-company transfers for the group of companies; monitor cash balances and assist with preparation of cashflow projections.
  • Bank and debt covenant calculations (monthly, quarterly, annually).
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Comply with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Other core expectations as defined by the company.


Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (required).
  • CPA designation or working towards CPA designation (required).
  • Public accounting experience (preferred).
  • Minimum of three (3) of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in working with multiple currencies and legal entities.
  • Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP.
  • Advanced Microsoft (MS) Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) skills required; demonstrated ability to produce presentations, spreadsheets, graphs, and charts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and strong analytical skills for forecasting, consolidation of data and financial analysis.
  • Must be an influential leader with a collaborative management style and ability to motivate others, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate keen attention to detail and task-related accuracy, as well as consistent follow-through skills.


Working Conditions

  • Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; flexibility is required.
  • Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Specific vision capabilities required; employee is to work in front of a computer, sitting for prolonged periods is required.
  • Role requires the ability to listen and speak to other employees.
  • The position will involve needing to lift up to 30-pounds, occasionally up to 50-pounds.


Compensation & Benefits:

This position offers a salary range of $75,000-$90,000 CAD, with final compensation varying based on experience, skills, internal equity, and location. In addition, Pure Flavor offers a competitive total rewards package, including company-paid benefits, RRSP matching, and paid time off.
