Accounting Manager (On-Site)

In our time of growth, we are seeking dedicated and talented individuals to support our continued success. We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager at our Fort Worth, Texas operation. This is an on-site position, no remote/hybrid option.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to own the day-to-day accounting function of a $15-20+ million operation. This is a player/coach role: you will do the accounting work yourself with some support, not simply oversee a team that does it. You will partner closely with our estimating, project management, and senior leadership teams in a highly operations-focused environment, and you must be able to work independently. As the business grows, this role is positioned to scale-including helping lead an upcoming ERP implementation and integration within Frontline Road Safety Group overall.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform hands-on, full-cycle accounting for the Skidabrader unit, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
  • Own and execute month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain detailed job costing across active projects, partnering with estimating and project management to track budgets, costs, and margins.
  • Manage multi-state accounting requirements, including state-specific tax, registration, and compliance obligations.
  • Support accounting/payroll functions related to prevailing wage and certified payroll projects, including direct labor reporting and interpreting related reports, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation as needed.
  • Support internal and external audits, preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
  • Maintain and optimize QuickBooks and advanced Excel-based reporting and analysis.
  • Help lead the upcoming ERP implementation and integration, including process mapping, data migration, and adoption.
  • Providing accurate, timely financial information to senior leadership to support operational and strategic decisions both at the Skidabrader level and overall to Frontline Road Safety senior leadership.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Accounting
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred and/or required years of experience
  • Strong staff-accountant-level technical skills with a hands-on approach to doing the work directly.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated month-end and quarter-end close experience.
  • Job costing experience
  • Multi-state accounting experience.
  • Audit experience (internal and/or external).
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities with minimal oversight.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across estimating, project management, and senior leadership teams.
  • Experience in providing accurate, timely financial information to senior leadership to support operational and strategic decisions

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prevailing wage / certified payroll experience
  • Previous construction industry experience.
  • Prior experience participating in or leading an ERP implementation.
