We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Accounting Manager to lead our Maintenance Division Accounting team. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and enjoys developing people while driving operational excellence.
What You'll DoWorking closely with the Controller of our Maintenance Division, the Accounting Manager will oversee daily accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support the company's continued growth.
Leadership & Team Management- Lead, mentor, and develop staff responsible for general accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and support.
- Foster a collaborative, service-oriented team culture.
General Accounting- Prepare month-end close files and supporting documentation
- Conduct monthly meetings to review financial results and close activities
- Post monthly journal entries
- Close modules at month end to advance period for new month
- Assist with special projects and other accounting-related responsibilities as assigned.
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Review weekly AP invoice batches and ensure timely vendor payments.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
Credit Cards:- Issue new credit cards, monitor activity, and import monthly
- Review monthly credit card reports for accuracy and compliance
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in the landscape, construction, or related service industries.
- Experience with Sage and/or Paycom.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
