Full Job Description
Geode Capital Management, LLC ("GCM") is a global institutional asset manager providing core beta exposures across a range of equity and niche asset classes, including commodities and options, for registered funds, commingled pools and separately managed accounts. Geode currently manages over $1.5 trillion in AUM across the products it advises and sub-advises.

Geode is looking for a highly motivated Accounting Manager to support the monthly close process, financial reporting, and audit preparation. Reporting to the Head of Finance and Accounting, this individual will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, identifying process improvements, and collaborating across departments to support the firm's financial operations. This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of financial operations and contribute to a mission-driven firm focused on long-term growth and success.

This is a hybrid work environment opportunity located in Boston, Massachusetts with a weekly in-office schedule of Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and deliver monthly close support to Corporate Accounting teams
  • Calculate and validate management fees in accordance with client agreements
  • Prepare and distribute client invoices; follow up on outstanding accounts receivable
  • Review monthly financial statements for accuracy and completeness
  • Utilize available tools and information to answer routine accounting and finance questions
  • Complete monthly fund accounting reconciliations and investigate discrepancies between custodian and administrator reports
  • Assist with the annual audit process, including responding to audit requests and compiling supporting documentation
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and optimize accounting and reporting processes

Skills You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Master's or MBA preferred
  • CPA or progress toward CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably within asset management or financial services industry
  • Experience with SQL, Tableau and PowerBI preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Critical Thinking: Leverage available resources and information to self-source solutions and problem solve
  • Time Management: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and thoroughness in financial reporting and documentation
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting standards and proficiency in Excel
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proactively communicate progress on and timing of deliverables
