Accounting Manager needed in our Cypress Creek office located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The ideal candidate for this role is a detail-oriented and dedicated go-getter who has effective verbal and written communication. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing a team and candidates should have 5+ years of experience in an equivalent role at an equivalent sized company. Law firm or professional services experience is preferred but not required. Bachelor's degree with a concentration in accounting is required but a master's degree or CPA license is highly preferred. Your Accounting Manager Duties and Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Lead a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, support, and coaching.
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations and ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, and supporting documentation.
- Lead the monthly and annual close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, account analysis, and financial review activities.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance and prepare reports, dashboards, key metrics, and variance analyses to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Assist with the annual budgeting process, periodic forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
- Ensure appropriate segregation of duties, approval authorities, and documentation standards are maintained throughout accounting processes.
- Ensure compliance with all trust accounting requirements, including monthly trust reconciliations and adherence to applicable state bar regulations.
- Manage and reconcile operating, trust, payroll, and other Firm bank accounts, ensuring accuracy and proper support.
- Prepare and review fixed asset, depreciation, lease accounting, accrual, and other supporting schedules.
- Coordinate external audits, tax engagements, government filings, and other required reporting obligations.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and technology solutions that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with Firm leadership and cross-functional departments to support financial initiatives and organizational objectives.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
