Accounting Manager-Princeton, IL (Hybrid)

(Candidate will be able to work 1 day a week from a remote location)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Accounting Manager to join our LCN team. This role is designed for a detail-oriented professional with strong accounting and analytical capabilities who can provide strategic guidance to plant and finance leadership. The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-growth environment, demonstrating excellent communication, and problem-solving skills to navigate business changes effectively.

What You Will Do:

Business Partnering & Strategic Influence
  • Strategic Advisory: Act as a primary financial advisor to plant and functional leaders, translating complex financial data into actionable strategies to improve business outcomes.
  • Operational Excellence: Lead cross-functional initiatives to drive a Lean Manufacturing mindset. Identify and execute value-added process improvements that enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Team Mentorship: Supervise and develop the finance staff (including Financial Analysts), ensuring high performance, professional growth, and effective cross-training within the group


Compliance & Internal Controls
  • Regulatory Oversight: Maintain a robust internal control environment to ensure all accounting procedures are fully compliant with GAAP and FICAP standards.
  • Financial Risk & Governance: Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance activities, including testing and documentation. Work closely with the SOX Coordinator to proactively resolve control gaps and ensure the timely close-out of deficiencies.


Financial Projects & Processes
  • Month-End Close: Manage the full-cycle month-end closing process, including journal entries, financial analysis, account reconciliations, and comprehensive plant reporting.
  • Cost Accounting & Variance Analysis: Oversee the standard costing system, including annual cost-rolls and manufacturing variance analysis. Provide executive-level commentary on weekly and monthly management reports.
  • Investment Strategy: Manage the BU investment strategy and project analysis (CER - Capital Expenditure Requests) pipeline. Partner with the Capital Projects Manager to provide strategic oversight on spend, ROI analysis, and project tracking.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Drive the AOP and periodic forecasting processes by partnering with the Controller and operational leads. Ensure fiscal alignment across all departments and synthesize complex financial fluctuations into clear, actionable summaries for leadership review.
  • Special Assignments: Provide financial guidance and support for special projects, including internal/external audit support and physical inventory management.


What You Need to Succeed:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (Required). CPA, CMA, or MBA (Preferred).
  • Experience: 5-8+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to look beyond the numbers to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for the business.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior management in a concise and actionable format.
  • Demonstrate a strong professional presence with the capacity to influence decision-making at all organizational levels. Lead cross-functional initiatives with a high degree of ownership and a steadfast commitment to accountability and results.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage complex, competing priorities and meet strict deadlines during the close and audit cycles.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and a drive to implement digital tools and automated processes to modernize the finance function.

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

  • The expected Base Salary Range: $92,000 to $105,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
