Job DescriptionAccounting AI Advisory Tampa, FL | Full-Time
Compensation: 110,000 - 130,000 plus bonus
Benefits: Health, dental, vision, 401(k), cell phone reimbursement, personal time off
About the Opportunity The AI Accounting Advisor will work primarily on engagements where artificial intelligence is used to design, build, or enhance accounting and finance processes for our clients. This is a ground floor opportunity to help define what AI-enabled accounting advisory looks like at Taylor White, backed by a firm that is committed to developing this practice area and your career within it.
This is not an IT or software engineering role. It is an accounting and advisory role for someone who understands the technical and operational realities of accounting, and who has the curiosity and passion to go deeper into the technical side of AI. You do not need deep technical training to start. You need the appetite to build it, and Taylor White will invest in developing that skillset as part of this role.
What You'll Do - Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on engagements where AI is used to modernize, streamline, or support accounting and finance functions.
- Partner with entrepreneurial and midsized companies to understand their accounting operations and identify where AI-enabled solutions can add value.
- Present findings, recommendations, and project progress directly to client stakeholders, including finance leaders and executives.
- Bring hands-on accounting expertise to AI-driven projects, translating technical possibilities into practical, accurate accounting outcomes.
- From time to time, contribute to more traditional accounting advisory engagements without an AI component. This work will be minimized, and when it occurs, it is treated as an opportunity to deepen your core accounting skills and client relationships, which you will then bring into future AI-driven, transformational projects.
- Stay current on AI tools and techniques relevant to accounting and finance, and bring new ideas back to the team.
- Collaborate with Taylor White's team to help shape internal best practices as this practice area grows.
Must-Have Qualifications - Public accounting or advisory experience, ideally including audit or other advisory services, at a heavy senior or light manager level.
- Experience working with a variety of clients, including entrepreneurial and midsized companies.
- A genuine hunger to learn and grow, with a self-starter mindset and the initiative to figure things out independently.
- Strong intellectual curiosity, particularly around technology and its application to accounting.
- Confident, polished presentation skills and the ability to build credibility with clients face to face.
- Ability and willingness to support non-AI accounting advisory engagements when needed.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications - CPA license. Preferred, but not required.
- Coding experience or comfort working with technical tools. Candidates without coding experience but with strong enthusiasm and the ability to speak to how they have applied AI in their current role will also be strongly considered.
- Hands-on exposure to AI tools, especially Claude, along with concrete examples of how you have used AI to improve a process, project, or deliverable in your current or past role.
- Operational accounting experience, such as working inside a finance or accounting function rather than solely from an external advisory seat.
Why This Role Taylor White is building this position with the intent to invest in your growth at the intersection of AI and accounting. You will help shape how our firm delivers this type of work, with the backing of a firm that sees this as a priority, not an experiment. While your time will be spent on AI-enabled engagements, any non-AI project work will be treated as an opportunity to build on your core accounting knowledge and skills, which you will then bring into future transformational, AI-driven engagements.
