We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant III to support complex accounting functions, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable accounting standards. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who can work independently, analyze financial data, prepare reports, and partner with cross-functional teams to support business decisions.

As an Accountant you will:

  • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Analyze financial transactions, variances, costs, revenue, commitments, and obligations to identify trends, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, schedules, and management reports.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Research and resolve account discrepancies, reconciling items, invoice issues, and financial reporting questions.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responses to auditor requests.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting procedures, and process documentation.
  • Partner with internal departments to gather financial data, explain results, and support budgeting, forecasting, and operational decision-making.
  • May review the work of junior accounting staff and provide guidance on accounting procedures and best practices.
  • Perform additional accounting projects and ad hoc reporting as assigned.

The ideal Accountant candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Four or more years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate, public accounting, government, nonprofit, or high-volume operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation practices.
  • Experience preparing journal entries, financial statements, reconciliations, audit schedules, and variance analyses.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with limited supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.


Pay Rate: $40 - $43 per hour
