Responsibilities

Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to partner with our Senior Accounting Manager in ensuring timely and accurate accounting and financial records for a portfolio of owner-related entities. Salary range for this position is $42-46/per hr. The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as the candidate's experience and qualifications.

What You will do
  • Manage daily accounting activities for assigned portfolios involving high-net-worth individuals, trusts, partnerships, corporations, and investment entities.

  • Review all general ledger accounts each month and prepare necessary adjusting journal entries in a timely manner.

  • Supports accurate financial reporting by performing complex reconciliations with owners and the outside CPA firm.
  • Maintain up-to-date schedules and reconciliations for all assets and liabilities.
  • Track and manage loans between owners, family partnerships, and irrevocable accounts, including debt service and principal payments.
  • Prepare monthly draw requests and document investor contribution requests.

  • Process and track annual gifting. Prepare and process cash transfers between entities and accounts.

  • Review monthly broker statement transactions in the investment portfolio management system and reconcile each portfolio to its subsidiary ledgers.

  • Record monthly transactions in Yardi's general ledger and annually reconcile 1099s to the general ledger and investment portfolio management system's subsidiary ledgers for tax preparation.

  • Prepare annual tax packages for the outside CPA firm.
  • Develop annual tax projections and update them as needed.


What You Bring
  • Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, plus 2+ years of experience in public accounting, trust accounting, family office accounting, or a similar specialized environment. Prior experience working with high-net-worth individuals, trusts, partnerships, corporations, and multi-entity structures.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Yardi Voyager, investment portfolio management software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with owners, supervisors, and outside CPAs.
  • Time Management: Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
