Full Job Description
The Accountant IV for SAP RE-FX (Flexible Real Estate Management), FI-AA (Asset Accounting), and PS (Project Systems) serves as a senior functional and accounting expert responsible for supporting, configuring, and optimizing SAP financial modules that manage real estate, capital assets, and project lifecycle accounting. The role combines advanced accounting knowledge with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) functional expertise to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with municipal accounting standards, and seamless integration across SAP modules. Consistent with the Accountant IV classification, this role designs/configures accounting systems, supervises staff, prepares complex financial reports, maintains financial controls, and exercises independent judgment in managing major City accounting functions. Job Responsibilities: SAP Real Estate (RE-FX) Functional Responsibilities - Leads configuration, maintenance, and functional support of SAP RE-FX for leases, property portfolios, real estate contracts, and related financial processes. - Ensures compliant lease accounting aligned with GASB standards and City policy. - Manages integration between RE-FX and core finance modules (FI/CO, AM, PM, PS). Fixed Assets (SAP Asset Accounting FI-AA) - Oversees the accounting, setup, tracking, depreciation, retirement, and reconciliation of fixed assets within SAP FI-AA. - Ensures asset accounting complies with GAAP and municipal capital asset requirements. - Coordinates annual and periodic asset roll-forwards, reconciliations, and audit schedules. - Designs improvements to asset master data structures, asset classes, depreciation keys, and reporting. - Provides assistance on preparation of fixed asset financial reports and related schedules. Project Accounting (SAP Project Systems PS) - Supports and administers SAP PS for capital projects, including WBS structures, settlements, budgeting, and cost tracking. - Validates project expenditures, funding sources, and cost allocations. - Reviews proper capitalization and closure of projects and integration to Asset Accounting. Cross-Functional ERP Responsibilities - Designs and implements improvements to accounting systems and processes across RE-FX, FI-AA, and PS modules. - Writes and reviews complex financial reports, memos, reconciliations, and audit responses. - Coordinates testing and validation for upgrades, new features, and configuration changes. - Provides end-user support, training, and documentation for functional areas. - Ensures financial controls are maintained to prevent deficits or misstatements. Upon supervisory and department head approval, this position may work remotely up to 3 days per week or may work a flexible schedule (9/80 or 4/10). If a 4/10 or 9/80 schedule is chosen, the position is required to work in office each day. SALARY Pay Range: $92,726.40 to $130,478.40 annually. Hiring Range: $92,726.40 to $118,352.00 annually.
