Position Overview

We are looking for an inclusive and dynamic individual to join our team as an Account Technical Lead. In this role, you will partner with account-based sales executives and channel partners to drive new sales growth in our Architecture, Engineering, and Construction space. You'll leverage your experience, knowledge, practical skills, innovative thinking, and vision to translate customer business challenges into technical solutions. Your engagements will require strategic planning, industry expertise, sales process knowledge, and a deep understanding of Autodesk tools to deliver value to our customers.

This role is remote (home office) based in Denver, Chicago, or Omaha, and requires proficiency in both English. You will report to your Technical Sales Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer strategies and provide insights on how Autodesk offerings can align with their goals and outcomes

  • Serve as the primary technology expert within account teams, leading customer planning, engagement processes, and sales content curation

  • Build technical business cases for Autodesk solutions through discovery workshops and solution development with customers

  • Guide technical discovery processes to uncover business issues and present solutions that address customer needs

  • Own technical relationship management by collaborating with internal subject matter experts to provide customers with the right knowledge during sales engagements

  • Develop advocates within accounts to influence the success of Autodesk solutions

  • Demonstrate thought leadership to customers and within the industries we serve, positioning Autodesk as a strategic partner

  • Collaborate with channel partners and customer success teams to ensure customer satisfaction and adoption

  • Deliver compelling presentations and messaging that resonate from the executive level down

  • Communicate Autodesk’s competitive positioning to customers

  • Stay updated with industry and global trends, and develop new ideas to drive revenue growth

  • Influence product development and direction through customer feedback and identified business opportunities

  • Provide mentoring for channel partners on technical sales initiatives

  • Partner with sales executives and channel partners to develop and execute technical aspects of account plans for specific accounts

  • Lead whitespace plan development to uncover new opportunities within the current account set. Collaborate with sales, business development, product, marketing, channel partners, or customer success teams for execution

  • Engage in and contribute to the account planning process

  • Align with customer decision-makers to secure technical closure of proposed solutions

  • Develop and deliver proposals and demonstrations that address customer business issues

  • Articulate and sell Autodesk’s unique value in sales situations

  • Capture metrics to quantify and justify the customer’s return on investment, supporting the impact on their goals and outcomes

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction

  • 7+ years of experience in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or Owner domain/industry

  • Technical knowledge of Autodesk solutions in AEC such as Revit, Civil 3D, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and BIM 360, or similar industry software

  • Strong selling and persuasion skills

  • Ability to manage workload independently and balance priorities

  • Willingness to travel up to 70% (air and car travel) to customers and Autodesk-sponsored events

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based sales roles, we expect a starting On-Target Earnings (OTE) between $126,200 and $226,160. OTE is comprised of base salary plus commission target for sales roles. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
